THE LANPAC and PRINCE’S TRUST - LANCASHIRE DINNER
Friday 1st March 2013
As you are aware, the LANPAC Annual Dinner is hosted by our Chairman, Jimmy Armfield CBE DL and is
one of the foremost events in Lancashire's social calendar, with a host of distinguished guests and a
reputation for high quality entertainment and food.
LANPAC’s 2012 Dinner raised almost £3,000 to further our work in crime prevention and the reduction of
anti-social behaviour throughout Lancashire. We are experiencing a steady rise in the number of calls for help
from local police officers and we are now facing greater demands for our services than at any time in the past,
so our fundraising becomes ever more important. Last year we allocated more than £116,000 to over
200 projects, all designed at finding local solutions to local problems.
Our next Dinner will be held on Friday 1st March 2013, but with one significant change.
Throughout the year, we work closely with The Prince’s Trust – Lancashire charity.
Last year they helped over 1000 young people - more than 850 of whom have gone on to find work,
enter further education, or start their own businesses. In the current economic climate it seemed good
business sense to hold a joint event to celebrate our 20th Anniversary. The Prince’s Trust - Lancashire
have agreed to take up this offer to join with us and we are now beginning to make the detailed preparations.
The event will once again be a formal dinner with a mixed audience and will be held at
Blackburn Rovers Football Club. As you will be aware Jimmy Armfield is a former Captain of the national
England football team and was part of the World Cup winning squad in 1966. Jimmy has extended invites to the
dinner to his former team mates including Sir Bobby Charlton and Roger Hunt MBE. They have attended previous
events, happily signing autographs during the comfort break and we look forward to them confirming their
attendance. Johnnie Casson will be entertaining us with his special brand of Yorkshire humour.
On behalf of our hosts, Jimmy Armfield and Lord Shuttleworth, the Lord Lieutenant of Lancashire and
the County Patron of The Prince’s Trust we are contacting you at this early stage to invite you once more to
support this prestigious event.
There are a number of ways in which you can choose to back this endeavour and they are descirbed in the attachment

Should you feel unable to attend the dinner itself, then you might wish to secure an advertisement
in the event’s Souvenir Programme, or perhaps you could donate a prize for the raffle, in which case there
is provision for you to signify your intentions on the reply form.
We are working hard to ensure that the 2013 joint Dinner will be a most memorable evening,
and I sincerely hope that you will be able to join us, or find some way of supporting this important venture.
