KINGSCOTE PARK CCTV
To supply and fit CCTV in Kingscote Park Blackpool aimed at
reducing anti social behaviour and violent crime.

For the purchase of three digital display boards providing information on crime prevention,
reassurance, road safety advice, missing persons and Crimestoppers etc. in the Fylde area.
CHATTERBOX
In an effort to reduce vehicle crime at car parks in Blackpool, it is proposed to supply & fit talking ticket
machines & signs carrying crime prevention advice.
OPERATION AUDITERRANT
To assist in the reduction of incidents of anti-social behaviour
by young people congregating outside shops in Grange Park Blackpool,
by purchasing three Mosquito Units which provide a high frequency
sound that can only be heard by young people.
OPERATION ACID
To reduce incidents of cycle thefts in Blackpool by purchasing 1,000
locks and to assist in reuniting recovered stolen cycles with their rightful
owner with the purchase of post coding kits.
SUMMER PROJECTS 2006
An initiative run through the summer holidays providing diversionary
activities such as DJ workshops, arts and crafts aimed at reducing anti social
behaviour and youth crime in the Kirkham and rural Fylde areas.
‘RAT TRAP’ VEHICLE OPERATION
The utilisation of a vehicle as a ‘rat trap’ strategically placed in hot
spot areas at key times, enabled with video equipment and Smartwater.
LGBT ANTI-DRINK SPIKING CAMPAIGN
The production of a lid to be placed on top of drink glasses
in pubs and clubs providing protection from date rape drugs and
publicising an advert or message at the same time, aimed at the Lesbian,
Gay, Bi Sexual and Transgender (LGBT) community.
FOOTBALL CRAZY
A ten week football coaching course aimed at reducing ant-social behaviour
in the Squires Gate, Stanley and Highfield areas of Blackpool
KINCRAIG TOOLKIT CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE’S ACTIVITY GROUP
Sporting activities for 5 to 15 year olds aimed at reducing ant-social behaviour
BLACKPOOL RAINBOW NETWORK
The advertisement of a website aimed at the LGBT community allowing users to
post messages, ask questions and report homophobic crimes and incidents.
FRIENDS OF LAYTON CEMETERY
The purchase of a CCTV system to protect a community building within
Layton Cemetery used for public meetings which is the subject of criminal damage.
OPERATION SIGN
The provision of an embroidered badge to display on uniforms to indicate that
the wearer can use sign language, enabling members of the deaf community to engage
with the police.
BLACKPOOL VICTORIA HOSPITAL REASSURANCE
Radio link set up between hospital security staff and the police to provide
immediate contact enabling a faster response to incidents of disorder, crime and
missing persons as they occur.
ADVOKATE
All door staff in Blackpool town centre will wear high visibility
armbands with the last four digits of their badge number being displayed on it.
The wearing of these armbands will make it easier for staff to be identified in the
event of assaults and will weed out any unsavoury door staff who are responsible for
this type of behaviour.
ADVERT
Buses frequently used by local youths will be the target of an advertising
campaign aimed at promoting community safety and focussing on the lifestyle restrictions
imposed by the granting of an Anti Social Behaviour Order.
MIDDLE WALK
The provision of wristband personal attack alarms to men attending a renowned
cruising area to improve awareness of safety issues.
CONTACTING OUR CALLERS VIA SMS
The purchase of a ‘pay-as-you-go’ mobile phone with the intention of sending a
text message to anyone who has made a 999 call from a mobile but who has not been
able to complete the call due to technical or other reasons.
CAVENDISH PARK INITIATIVE
The provision of extra security measures to prevent anti-social behaviour and
acts of vandalism at a park surrounded by residential property and a church.
WESTERN DIVISION COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS MENTORING SCHEME
The continuation of a mentoring scheme aimed at increasing the confidence,
achievements and positive behaviour of young people identified as being at risk of
offending.
KINGSCOTE PARK CHICANE ENTRANCE SCHEME
S bend chicanes at the entrance to a park will stop motorbike access and
improve the quality of life for nearby residents.
