The Vehicle Bomb
A
vehicle containing a large high explosive bomb could be
parked in your car park or near your property. Or a
smaller bomb may be attached to the underside of a
vehicle to kill the person inside when they move the
vehicle.
To
protect against vehicle bombs:
- Control
access to your car park;
- If
possible, make sure that people park their
vehicles well away from buildings; and
- Keep
watch over the outside of your property.
If
you do not know why a package or a vehicle is there and
you are suspicious of it:
-
DO NOT TOUCH OR MOVE IT.
- CLEAR PEOPLE AWAY FROM THE AREA CLOSE BY.
- DIAL 999 FOR THE POLICE.
- SOUND THE ALARM AND ASK EVERYONE TO LEAVE THE PROPERTY.
- WARN PROPERTIES NEXT TO YOURS OF THE DANGER.
- GATHER EVERYONE TOGETHER AT A MEETING POINT.
Everyone should know where this meeting point is. It must
be at least 100 metres away from the place where the
suspicious object was found and out of sight of it. Or,
if the suspicious object is a vehicle or anything bigger
than a suitcase, meet at least 400 metres away from it.
